Baker

Job Summary:

The Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bread, pastries, and other baked goods in accordance with recipes and quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of baking techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will have creativity, a passion for baking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking and Preparation:
• Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
• Follow recipes and adjust ingredient quantities to meet production needs.
• Ensure all baked items are produced to the highest quality and presentation standards.
• Inventory Management:
• Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as needed.
• Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
• Food Safety and Hygiene:
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Ensure cleanliness of all baking equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Quality Control:
• Conduct taste tests and quality checks on baked goods to ensure flavor and consistency.
• Make adjustments to recipes based on feedback and quality assessments.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate production schedules and ensure timely delivery of baked goods.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior bakers and apprentices.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary degree with a focus on baking or pastry arts is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bakery or culinary environment, with a focus on baking.
• Experience in a high-volume production bakery is advantageous.
