Your Role

As an Availability Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of our critical IT infrastructure, particularly our IT clusters. You will leverage real-time monitoring tools and benchmarking to maintain high uptime, optimize resource utilization, and enhance system reliability and scalability. Your focus will be on proactive monitoring, analysis, and implementation of strategies to maximize service availability.

 

Requirements

  • Monitor the performance of IT clusters by evaluating resource utilization, system uptime, and workload distribution.
  • Compare performance metrics against predefined benchmarks and industry standards to identify optimization opportunities. Implement clustering strategies and workload balancing techniques to enhance reliability and scalability.
  • Leverage real-time monitoring tools and reporting dashboards to track uptime, response times, resolution rates, customer satisfaction, and resource utilization.
  • Develop and implement availability management plans and strategies to minimize downtime and ensure service continuity.
  • Participate in incident and problem management processes, focusing on identifying root causes of availability issues and implementing preventative measures.
  • Contribute to capacity planning activities to ensure that infrastructure resources are sufficient to meet current and future demands.
  • Monitor and report on SLA compliance related to availability metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the availability and reliability of IT services.

 

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, availability management, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of IT cluster technologies, workload balancing, and scalability strategies.
  • Proficiency in using real-time monitoring tools and reporting dashboards.
  • Experience with performance monitoring and benchmarking techniques.
  • Knowledge of incident and problem management processes.
  • Understanding of capacity planning principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with SLA management.
