We are seeking an experienced Associate Director - Design (Olympic Park - Sports & Entertainment) to lead the design vision of our Olympic Park, a cornerstone of our groundbreaking development. This role is essential in creating an exceptional environment that hosts a variety of sports and entertainment events, bringing together communities and showcasing unparalleled attractions.

In this key position, you will oversee the design process from concept to execution, ensuring that the Olympic Park embodies innovation, sustainability, and world-class standards. Your leadership will guide a diverse team of designers and create collaborative partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring that every detail aligns with our master vision for Qiddiya.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design of the Olympic Park, focusing on creating iconic venues and spaces for sports and entertainment
  • Develop and implement design standards that reflect the unique vision and branding of Qiddiya, ensuring consistency across all projects
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants to integrate sustainable design practices into all aspects of the park's development
  • Conduct regular design reviews, providing feedback and engaging the team in continuous improvement processes
  • Work alongside project managers to align design deliverables with project timelines and budget constraints
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including government entities, community groups, and event organizers, to ensure alignment and gather valuable insights
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in sports venue design and urban planning
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and environmental considerations in all design processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline; Master's degree is preferred
  • 12+ years of professional experience, with a significant focus on sports facilities and large-scale entertainment projects
  • A proven track record of successfully leading design projects from conception to realization
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing design teams
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable design practices and applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly
  • Proficiency in design software tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • A keen understanding of the unique spatial and functional requirements in sports and entertainment venues
  • Ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders and manage multifaceted project dynamics
