Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Area Contract Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to focus on overseeing contracts, ensuring compliance, resolving disputes, and managing contract performance in a designated area.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manages and administers contracts for projects or operations within a designated area, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and client expectations.
  • Works closely with legal, procurement, and project management teams to prepare, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions to protect the company’s interests.
  • Ensures that all contractual obligations are met, and maintains clear communication with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitors project performance and contract compliance, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Oversees the timely delivery of goods and services as outlined in contracts, managing any changes or variations to the scope of work.
  • Assists in resolving contract disputes and claims, coordinating with legal teams to negotiate settlements and ensure contract terms are upheld.
  • Prepares and presents reports on contract status, performance, risks, and changes to senior management.
  • Ensures proper documentation and record-keeping for all contract-related matters, including amendments, renewals, and final agreements.
  • Supports the procurement process by evaluating supplier and subcontractor proposals, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborates with project teams to provide ongoing guidance on contractual obligations and performance expectations.
  • Leads or supports contract audits and ensures any corrective actions or improvements are implemented.


Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in contract management, procurement, or legal roles within a relevant industry
  • Knowledge of contract law, negotiation processes, and procurement procedures is preferred


Skills/Competencies

  • Strong understanding of contract law and the ability to interpret and apply contract terms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills to assess contract performance and resolve issues
  • Proficiency in contract management software, MS Office, and project management tools
