SANGCOM is a UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) programme that supports the Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) by delivering modern communications, IT, and command systems. The programme provides training, technical assistance, and project delivery in collaboration with Saudi authorities, ensuring SANG has secure, effective, and resilient communications capabilities.
Job Purpose
The Acquisition Safety Manager plays a key role in supporting the delivery of engineering and safety activities within the SANGCOM programme. This position focuses on ensuring design safety, compliance with MOD safety standards, and the development and maintenance of safety documentation and assurance processes.

Job Purpose
The Acquisition Safety Manager plays a key role in supporting the delivery of engineering and safety activities within the SANGCOM programme. This position focuses on ensuring design safety, compliance with MOD safety standards, and the development and maintenance of safety documentation and assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Safety and Environmental Cases, including supporting documentation and reports.
- Maintain and update Hazard Logs in line with programme requirements.
- Ensure compliance with MOD safety standards, particularly DEF STAN 00-056.
- Contribute to the implementation and application of ASEMS (Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System).
- Apply knowledge of relevant MOD policies and procedures, including JSPs where applicable.
- Support risk management, system safety assurance, and integration activities across the programme.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure communications and IT systems to SANG.
- Proven experience applying MOD safety standards, particularly DEF STAN 00-056.
- Familiarity with ASEMS and the development of safety cases and supporting documentation.
- Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and hazard log management.
- Background in defence, military, or secure communications projects is highly desirable.
- Willingness to be based in Riyadh and work on a UK MOD-led international programme.
