About the role
The primary function of the Accountant is to perform general accounting/bookkeeping activities, including preparing and supporting the monthly and year-end closing process for Gartner Subsidiaries, which consists of account bookings and reconciliations. The accountant will also assist the Senior Finance Manager and wider team in developing and managing compliance and controls within local and corporate requirements.
What you’ll do
Perform accounting activities (FA, AP, GL etc) and ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintain all journal entries including support
Perform monthly account reconciliations as assigned
Prepare monthly/quarterly/ year-end closing
Prepare and ensure timely filing of monthly and annual VAT & WHT return and statutory reports
Support to prepare all accounting documents for Statutory Audits and Tax declarations
Assist with any other Audits and Surveys (e.g. ICV, IKTVA, LCGPA) as required.
Assist with establishing internal controls and monitoring compliance
Support on e-invoicing process as required
Investigate anomalies identified to determine root causes and offer solutions to improve process
Drive and support continuous improvement by supporting management initiatives and developing & documenting new processes
Execute and/or support special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
What you’ll need
3-4 years of proven Accounting & Finance experience in a global environment, preferably in KSA
Strong understanding of Local Accounting Standards (GAAP), good understanding of US GAAP
Fluency in English as well as Arabic
Knowledge of local VAT, Indirect Tax and WHT rules
Good hands-on reporting-systems knowledge. (Oracle Financials and Hyperion experience is preferred.)
Excellent working knowledge of Excel
Strong ability to collect information from many varied sources and ensure its accuracy
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong initiative and willingness to take on projects in a proactive manner
Ability to manage constantly shifting priorities, requirements and meeting deadlines.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills and effective listening skills
