Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with students individually or in small groups to support academic achievement.
- Implement behavior support plans (BSPs) and reinforce positive behavioral interventions.
- Assist in the collection of data on student academic progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to adapt lessons and strategies for individual needs.
- Support classroom instruction by reinforcing learning activities under teacher supervision.
- Assist in de-escalating student behaviors and employing crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school climate by modeling respectful behavior.
- Participate in IEP/504 or behavior team meetings when requested.
- Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, or other non-instructional times as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associates or bachelors degree preferred).
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or behavioral setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies, including PBIS or CPI (training provided, if necessary).
- Ability to build rapport with students and maintain professional boundaries.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- May involve exposure to challenging behaviors.
- Requires physical stamina, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- School-based setting, following academic calendar.
