Job Summary:


Salasa is seeking an experienced and driven 3PL Manager to lead and manage our partnerships with third-party logistics providers, covering both domestic and international shipping. This role is critical to building Salasa Shipping as an aggregator of last mile and cross-border services, enabling us to offer competitive, reliable delivery solutions to merchants and external clients. The 3PL Manager will oversee pricing negotiations, SLA management, claims resolution, and ensure operational excellence, all while maintaining strong relationships with our logistics partners.


Key Responsibilities:

3PL Relationship & Performance Management


  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all 3PL partners, managing strategic relationships and conducting regular business reviews.
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce SLAs and KPIs to ensure high-quality, consistent service from all partners.
  • Drive accountability with 3PLs on performance targets, taking proactive measures to address underperformance.
  • Collaborate on route optimization, delivery reliability, and scalability with 3PLs to support business growth.


Pricing & Commercial Negotiations:


  • Lead rate negotiations and pricing discussions to secure the most competitive terms for Salasa Shipping.
  • Develop pricing models that allow us to profitably package and sell delivery services to merchants and external clients.
  • Continuously analyse market trends to keep Salasa Shipping’s offerings competitive.
  • Forecast logistics costs and develop strategies to optimize cost per shipment.


Operational Excellence & Issue Resolution:


  • Be hands-on with operational processes, actively collaborating with internal fulfilment, operations, and customer experience teams.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues with 3PL partners to minimize disruption and improve the end customer experience.
  • Support expansion plans by onboarding new 3PL partners and ensuring their fast operational readiness.


Claims Handling:


  • Oversee the claims process with 3PL partners to ensure timely investigation and resolution of lost, damaged, or delayed shipments.
  • Implement clear procedures and follow-ups with 3PLs to reduce claim frequency and financial exposure.
  • Provide trend analysis of claims to guide root cause corrective actions.


Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Analyse cost, service level, and operational data to drive performance improvements and cost efficiencies.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for management with actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to visualize performance and support decision-making.


Requirements:

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field. (MBA is a plus.)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience managing logistics operations and 3PL relationships, with direct experience in pricing negotiations and SLA enforcement.
  • Experience working in fast-paced e-commerce, retail logistics, or fulfilment environments.


Skills & Competencies:


  • Strong knowledge of last mile and cross-border logistics.
  • Highly analytical with strong analytics and data skills to evaluate costs and operational performance.
  • Collaboration mindset & partnership building approach.
  • Assertive and confident communicator, capable of negotiating and influencing senior external stakeholders.
  • Solid problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving issues and claims.
  • Excellent communication skills in Arabic & English.
  • Deep understanding of carrier operations, logistics technology platforms, and performance benchmarking.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives across departments and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and logistics software (TMS, WMS, ERP).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple 3PL relationships across geographies.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
