Apt Resources is currently recruiting on behalf of our client in the Industrial & Manufacturing sector for an experienced Supply Chain Manager in Iraq. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain function for a group of companies of industrial manufacturing. The role requires an experienced industrial supply chain professional with strong exposure to gypsum manufacturing, construction materials, metal profiles, silica, glass and Fleet acquisition at the same time information about production line purchasing of industrial and pharmaceutical.

The successful candidate will ensure the uninterrupted flow of raw materials, consumables, spare parts, and finished products while maintaining optimum inventory levels, competitive procurement practices, and efficient logistics operations. The position requires close coordination with Production, Technical, Commercial, Finance, and Executive Management teams to support operational performance and business growth.

The person will be responsible for handling the warehouse, logistics, and procurement department.

Responsibilities:

    • Lead all procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and inventory management activities across the business.
    • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for production lines, and raw material, along with general business need.
    • Establish strong relationships with local and international suppliers while negotiating commercial terms, pricing agreements, and long-term supply contracts.
    • Ensure adequate stock levels of raw materials and critical spare parts to support uninterrupted production.
    • Lead production planning and demand forecasting processes in coordination with manufacturing and commercial teams.
    • Monitor inventory levels and implement initiatives to reduce excess stock, obsolete materials, and working capital requirements.
    • Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation planning, distribution, and export coordination where applicable.
    • Develop supplier performance management systems and conduct regular supplier evaluations.
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and supply chain efficiency enhancement.
    • Support ERP implementation and supply chain digitalization initiatives to improve visibility, reporting, and operational control.
    • Build Supply Chain department’s SOP’s. Prepare and monitor supply chain KPIs, including inventory turnover, procurement savings, service levels, forecast accuracy, and logistics performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management within industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience.
  • Direct experience in gypsum manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics, inventory control, and supplier management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain reporting tools.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in developing or emerging markets.
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CSCP, CPIM, CIPS, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing international sourcing and import activities.
