About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead mechanical engineering initiatives on significant projects while contributing to innovative solutions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. As a senior member of our team, you will drive technical excellence, mentor junior engineers, and help establish best practices that shape our mechanical engineering capability across the region.
Lead and manage mechanical design packages across feasibility, concept, outline, and detailed design phases, ensuring technical robustness and adherence to project timelines.
Develop, prepare, and coordinate comprehensive mechanical deliverables including calculations, specifications, datasheets, schedules, P&IDs, layouts, design reports, and procurement documentation.
Take ownership of assigned mechanical work packages, managing technical quality, interfaces, scope, budget, program, and change control throughout project lifecycle.
Conduct site surveys, data reviews, and lead technical discussions with clients, operators, suppliers, contractors, and technology providers to ensure alignment and resolve challenges.
Design and optimize mechanical solutions for pumps, pipework, valves, tanks, lifting systems, and associated treatment assets tailored to project requirements.
Coordinate seamlessly with Process, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and Architectural teams to ensure MEP integration, constructability, maintainability, and safe access throughout design and construction phases.
Contribute to safety-by-design reviews, HAZOP/SWIFT workshops, technical risk management, and commissioning strategies to deliver safe, efficient solutions.
Review and evaluate supplier and contractor submissions, respond to technical queries, and provide support during construction, commissioning, and project handover.
Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the mechanical engineering team.
Establish and maintain mechanical engineering standards, templates, and best practices to enhance delivery efficiency and quality across projects.
What do we need from you
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BEng) or Master's degree (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Demonstrated expertise in mechanical equipment selection, pumping systems, pipework design, valves, hydraulics, and system layouts.
Proven ability to prepare, check, and coordinate mechanical calculations, specifications, datasheets, schedules, reports, and technical drawings.
Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, present recommendations clearly, and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial awareness and proven track record of delivering projects within agreed scope, budget, and program parameters.
Working knowledge of relevant mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable to the project domain.
