At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior ELV Engineer to lead and manage all ELV systems engineering, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities for large-scale Data Centre construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of mission-critical ELV infrastructure that supports security, monitoring, communications, life safety, and operational technology systems within highly resilient Data Centre environments. Working closely with project managers, consultants, contractors, MEP teams, commissioning specialists, vendors, and client representatives, the Senior ELV Engineer will ensure all ELV systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and integrated in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
ELV Systems Management

Responsible for the planning, coordination, installation, and management of all ELV systems across Data Centre facilities, including structured cabling systems, fibre optic networks, CCTV systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, public address systems, intercom systems, building management system (BMS) interfaces, data networking infrastructure, clock systems, emergency communication systems, and security management platforms. The role will ensure that all ELV systems are designed and installed to meet the operational, security, and reliability requirements of mission-critical facilities.

Data Centre ELV Infrastructure Delivery

Oversee the delivery of critical ELV infrastructure supporting Data Centre operations, ensuring seamless integration between security systems, network infrastructure, building systems, and operational technologies. The role will coordinate with electrical, mechanical, CSA, ICT, security, and commissioning teams to ensure that all ELV installations are properly synchronized with overall project construction activities. Particular emphasis will be placed on maintaining programme schedules, minimizing interface conflicts, and ensuring systems readiness for commissioning and client handover.

Design Review and Technical Coordination

Review design documents, technical specifications, system architecture drawings, network layouts, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. The role will identify technical issues, coordinate design clarifications, participate in constructability reviews, and provide technical recommendations to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability. The successful candidate will work closely with consultants, vendors, and specialist subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure

Manage the installation and testing of structured cabling and fibre optic infrastructure supporting Data Centre operations. The role will ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements for fibre backbone networks, copper cabling systems, telecommunications rooms, equipment cabinets, patching systems, and network connectivity infrastructure. The successful candidate will oversee cable routing coordination, certification testing, labelling standards, and documentation requirements to ensure operational readiness and long-term system reliability.

Security Systems Management

Lead the implementation and integration of Data Centre security systems, including CCTV surveillance, video management systems, biometric access control systems, perimeter security solutions, intrusion detection systems, visitor management systems, and security command centre technologies. The role will ensure that security infrastructure supports client operational standards and complies with applicable security protocols and regulatory requirements associated with critical facilities.

Quality Assurance and Quality Control

The Senior ELV Engineer will ensure that all ELV installations are executed in accordance with approved quality management procedures, project specifications, client standards, and industry best practices. The role will oversee inspections, testing activities, system verification processes, quality audits, punch list management, and non-conformance resolution. The successful candidate will work closely with quality teams and specialist subcontractors to ensure all systems achieve the required levels of performance and reliability.

Here's what you'll need

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and possess a minimum of 12–15 years of experience in ELV systems engineering and construction, including at least 5 years of experience on large-scale Data Centre, mission-critical, technology, or complex infrastructure projects.
