Job Summary
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at the solar project site. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and client safety procedures, with the objective of achieving zero accidents and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesHSE Compliance & Implementation
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies at the solar project site. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, company standards, and client safety procedures, with the objective of achieving zero accidents and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesHSE Compliance & Implementation
- Implement project-specific HSE plans, procedures, and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, client standards, and company HSE policies.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and report unsafe acts/conditions.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by all site personnel.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Risk Assessments for site activities.
- Identify hazards related to solar installation, electrical works, working at height, lifting operations, and excavation.
- Recommend and implement control measures.
- Monitor activities such as:
- Solar panel installation
- Mounting structure erection
- DC & AC electrical works
- Inverter installation
- Cable laying and trenching
- Stop unsafe work practices immediately.
- Conduct site safety inductions for workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Promote safety culture among workforce.
- Report, investigate, and document accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports and corrective action plans.
- Maintain HSE records, permits, checklists, and inspection logs.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly safety reports.
- Assist in audits and inspections.
- Ensure emergency response plans are in place.
- Conduct mock drills (fire, electrical shock, fall rescue, etc.).
- Ensure availability and maintenance of fire-fighting and first-aid equipment.
