Safety Engineer

The Safety Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure a safe workplace and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company requirements. The role will support safety initiatives, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across operations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives in line with company requirements and applicable regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities to identify and control potential risks.
• Monitor compliance with SHE requirements and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with appropriate corrective actions.
• Support the implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures, including drills and emergency response activities.

Minimum Job requirements:

• A University Degree in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) or a University Degree in any Science discipline with a NEBOSH General Certificate.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) within the Transportation, Manufacturing, or Construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, risk management, and workplace safety practices.
• Good understanding of applicable safety regulations, standards, and environmental requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
