Risk Coordinator

Position Summary
Hatch is seeking a Risk Coordinator to support the delivery of the Ma’aden Aluminium Recycling Project. The successful candidate will assist in implementing and maintaining the project risk management program, ensuring risks and opportunities are identified, assessed, monitored, and reported throughout the project lifecycle.
Working within the Project Controls team, the Risk Coordinator will collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, Cost Control, and Client teams to support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.

Risk Coordinator
Hatch – Ma’aden Partnership
Location: Al Khobar. Saudi Arabia
Position Summary
Hatch is seeking a Risk Coordinator to support the delivery of the Ma’aden Aluminium Recycling Project. The successful candidate will assist in implementing and maintaining the project risk management program, ensuring risks and opportunities are identified, assessed, monitored, and reported throughout the project lifecycle.
Working within the Project Controls team, the Risk Coordinator will collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Planning, Cost Control, and Client teams to support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the project Risk and Opportunity Registers and track mitigation actions.
- Coordinate risk identification workshops and support qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
- Monitor and analyze project risks impacting cost, schedule, safety, quality, procurement, construction, and project execution.
- Develop risk reports, dashboards, heat maps, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Support risk reviews and communicate risk status to project stakeholders.
- Work closely with Planning and Cost Control teams to incorporate risk impacts into forecasts and contingency assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Hatch, Ma’aden, and project risk management procedures.
- Support lessons learned initiatives and promote a proactive risk management culture across the project team.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project controls, risk management, project planning, cost control, or project management.
- Experience on mining, metals, industrial, infrastructure, or EPC/EPCM projects.
- Middle East project experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of project risk management principles and ISO 31000.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and risk management software.
- Understanding of project controls, scheduling, forecasting, and cost management processes.
- Strong analytical, reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- PMI-RMP, PMP, or equivalent risk management certification.
