What You Need To Know
The Quality Inspector is essential in ensuring equipment meets the businesses, customers and legal requirements. The role will interface heavily with the workshop, production and engineering teams.
What We Are Looking For
Some of the Key Accountabilities:
- Work in accordance with quality strategy
- Demonstrates understanding of risks and mitigation techniques
- Generate NOI, PMI Packs, Welding Packs
- Review material certification, test documentation
- Visual and dimensional inspection
- Carry out Quality inspections (In-house & at supplier facilities) which involves physical inspection, document reviews, expediting and product release
- Carry out in progress Inspections, Flushing, Pressure Test and final inspection
- Coordinate with Third Party Inspection Agencies, and Client Inspectors daily
- Attendance of internal and external training activities
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely
- Demonstrate knowledge of key elements of products
- Report against targets and objectives for the site, providing communication and interpretation and facilitating improvement.
- Support local initiatives, ensuring improvement projects contribute towards business objectives and deliver results.
- Proactively manage all submitted non-conformances ensuring those that warrant it have an effective root cause analysis carried out, with the objective of implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure the content of the GBMS is robust, effective and adhered to.
- Awareness of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 together with any other standards that become necessary to the operation of the business.
Education
Essential
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Formal training in inspection specialism(s)
- Formal qualification in a technical discipline
- Internal or Lead auditor qualification
- NDT Level II certified (RT, PT, MT, UT & VT)
- CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI
- NACE Level-2 / BGAS Gr-2
Essential
- Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret dimensional reports
- Experience of a previous or similar role
- High level of IT skills
- Experience of a previous or similar role
