Position Summary

We are looking for a Procurement Engineer with solid experience in construction and contracting projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement cycle of construction materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and timely project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for construction projects from inquiry to delivery.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare RFQs, bid evaluations, technical comparisons, and procurement recommendations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and site teams to identify procurement requirements.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strategic vendor relationships.
  • Support contract negotiations and purchase order management.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience within construction or contracting companies.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, subcontracting, and procurement processes.
  • Experience in supplier negotiations, commercial evaluations, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with construction project documentation and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with large-scale commercial, or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong understanding of the Saudi construction market and supplier network.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling and procurement planning principles.
