Job Purpose
To support pattern shop operations by assisting Pattern Makers in the manufacturing, handling, preparation, cleaning, maintenance, and movement of patterns, core boxes, and related tooling used in casting production. The role ensures smooth pattern shop workflow while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Job Purpose
To support pattern shop operations by assisting Pattern Makers in the manufacturing, handling, preparation, cleaning, maintenance, and movement of patterns, core boxes, and related tooling used in casting production. The role ensures smooth pattern shop workflow while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Job Responsibilities
Pattern Making Support
- Assist Pattern Makers during wooden pattern manufacturing and assembly.
- Support preparation of pattern boards, core boxes, and pattern components.
- Assist in basic layout marking and preparation under supervision.
- Support styrofoam or master pattern preparation activities.
- Handle and move wood, pattern materials, pattern plates, and tools within the pattern shop.
- Assist in loading/unloading patterns for machining, storage, or shipment.
- Support pattern mounting and dismounting operations.
- Assist operators during woodworking machine operations such as cutting, drilling, sanding, and finishing.
- Prepare tools and materials required for pattern making tasks.
- Maintain basic pattern shop tools and equipment cleanliness.
- Assist Pattern Makers during dimension checking and pattern inspection.
- Support preparation of pattern identification tags and markings.
- Help maintain pattern shop records and work instructions.
- Assist in pattern storage, stacking, and organization in designated racks.
- Support pattern inventory and tracking activities.
- Ensure patterns are stored safely to prevent damage.
- Maintain clean and organized pattern shop work areas.
- Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
- Assist in maintaining safe operation of pattern shop equipment and workspaces.
Job Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or Technical Training (preferred)
- Experience: 1–3 years in a workshop, carpentry, pattern shop, or manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Skills: Basic understanding of woodworking tools and materials
- Attributes: Ability to follow instructions and support skilled workers
- Language: Basic English communication (preferred)
