Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge mechanical solutions. In this essential role, you will play a key part in the design, development, and optimization of our innovative hardware products. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the mechanical integrity, reliability, and manufacturability of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the mechanical design process from concept to production, utilizing CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed drawings and specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate design concepts and identify potential improvements or optimizations.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, firmware developers, and product designers to integrate mechanical components into overall product architecture.
- Develop and implement mechanical methods and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Perform mechanical analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and tolerance analysis, to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Generate prototypes and conduct thorough testing and validation to verify design performance and compliance with specifications.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of the production process, including troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
Requirements:
- Recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, NX siemens, Fusion 360, AutoCAD to develop 3D models and technical drawings, and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL)
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and methodologies.
- Experience with prototyping and mechanical machines such as CNC, laser cut and other handling tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to propose innovative solutions
- Experience with product development processes, including design validation, prototyping, and testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skill, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality mechanical designs on time and within budget constraints.
Type of employment: 6 months Internship
Work mode: On-site
Location: KAUST Research & Technology Park, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.
Transportation: Daily shuttles between Jeddah and KAUST are available.
