An exciting opportunity is available to join one of Saudi Arabia's most significant and technically challenging rail infrastructure projects: the Makkah–Madinah High-Speed Railway (Haramain High-Speed Railway).

Siemens is responsible for the maintenance of the railway's signalling systems across approximately 450 km of high-speed railway infrastructure, operating within a demanding environmental and operational setting.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Site Manager to join our maintenance organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, availability and performance of the signalling systems while ensuring that contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and maintenance requirements are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Site Manager will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of a 24/7 technical maintenance team operating from one of the maintenance centres located along the Makkah–Madinah High-Speed Railway.

  • Lead, supervise and coordinate the site maintenance team and associated technical activities.
  • Ensure achievement of contractual maintenance KPIs, including system availability, incident response and repair times, preventive maintenance completion and reduction of recurring incidents.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures and schedules.
  • Coordinate incident response, troubleshooting, fault investigation and restoration activities.
  • Analyse recurring incidents and implement appropriate mitigation and improvement measures.
  • Monitor the operational condition and availability of signalling and associated systems within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate activities with other Siemens teams, Maintenance Site Managers, the Project Manager and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Participate in consortium, customer and project coordination meetings as required.
  • Coordinate and supervise trackside maintenance activities, inspections and technical interventions.
  • Ensure effective management of site resources, including spare parts, tools, equipment, repairs, logistics and supplies.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure the availability of critical spare parts and maintenance equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing system reliability, availability and maintenance efficiency.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable Siemens, project, customer and safety requirements.

The position requires periodic attendance at trackside work locations for inspection, supervision and coordination of maintenance activities.

Location

The final working location will be determined according to project requirements within the Makkah–Madinah High-Speed Railway network.

Candidates must be prepared to work permanently at one of the designated maintenance locations along the railway.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in one of the following disciplines:

  • Industrial Engineering
  • Telecommunications Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Or another relevant technical/engineering discipline

Employment Eligibility,Saudi National preferred or holder of a valid Saudi Iqama with appropriate employment eligibility.

Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.

Valid driving license and ability to travel between project and maintenance locations when required.

The following experience and qualifications will be considered an advantage:

Previous experience with railway signalling systems, including one or more of the following:

Traffic Control Centres / Control Traffic Centres

Electronic Interlocking Systems

Axle Counters

Track Circuits

ETCS Level 2

Railway Signals

Technical Buildings and associated systems

Previous experience working on the Makkah–Madinah / Haramain High-Speed Railway Project.

Strong knowledge or practical experience in electrical, electronic, telecommunications and/or IT systems.

Previous experience supervising technical maintenance teams within a railway, transportation or other safety-critical operational environment.

The successful candidate should be comfortable taking responsibility for a geographically defined maintenance area, coordinating multiple technical disciplines, managing operational incidents and working closely with Siemens teams, consortium partners and the customer.
