Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Junior Planner to join our team! The Junior Planner will support the planning and scheduling activities of a hospitality project, such as a hotel, resort, restaurant, or mixed-use development. The role involves assisting with project schedules, monitoring progress, collecting site updates, preparing reports, and coordinating with design, procurement, construction, and subcontractor teams.

The successful candidate will help ensure that project activities are properly planned, tracked, and completed in accordance with the approved schedule, budget, quality requirements, and project objectives.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist in preparing and updating detailed project schedules using planning software.
• Support the development of baseline, detailed, recovery, and short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Collect daily and weekly progress information from site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor actual progress against the approved project schedule.
• Identify delays, potential risks, and activities that may affect project completion.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, dashboards, and schedule analysis.
• Update project planning databases and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with construction, design, procurement, commercial, and project management teams.
• Track design deliverables, material approvals, procurement activities, and construction milestones.
• Assist with monitoring key hospitality project activities, including:
• Participate in progress meetings and prepare meeting notes related to planning matters.
• Assist in reviewing subcontractor and supplier schedules.
• Prepare two-week or three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Support delay analysis and the preparation of recovery plans.
• Ensure schedule updates reflect approved changes, variations, and revised construction sequences.
• Maintain organized planning documentation and schedule revision records.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Planning Manager or Project Manager.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in project planning, construction planning, or project controls.
• Experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or fit-out projects is preferred.
• Knowledge of construction activities, project sequencing, and site operations.
• Good understanding of project planning and progress monitoring principles.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar planning software.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prepare schedules, reports, dashboards, and progress updates.
• Basic understanding of critical path, float, milestones, resources, and schedule logic.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
• Familiarity with BIM or document control systems is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multicultural project teams.
• Willingness to visit and work at the project site.
• Proactive attitude and ability to follow up on outstanding actions.
