Junior Network Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity, availability, and performance. The role includes troubleshooting network issues, implementing approved changes, and supporting network improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and availability, investigate incidents, and escalate complex issues when necessary.
• Configure and support VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
• Support LAN, WAN, and wireless network connectivity.
• Implement network security configurations, including access control lists (ACLs), in accordance with approved policies.
• Perform approved network changes and software upgrades, including implementation, validation, and rollback procedures.
• Resolve incidents and service requests within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain network diagrams, configuration backups, technical documentation, and asset records.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve connectivity issues and support project delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of practical experience in network operations or support.
• CCNP (preferred).
• Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, STP, EtherChannel, OSPF, and BGP.
• Understanding of DHCP, DNS, NAT, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Good command of English for technical documentation and professional communication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of firewalls and network security.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies.
• Exposure to network automation using Python or Ansible.
• Willingness to participate in scheduled maintenance and on-call support as required.

Required Certification:

• Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
