Role Summary: The MPI Inspector performs Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) testing on materials, records and archives test results and inspection parameters, prepares calibration samples, ensures the proper functioning of MPI equipment through calibration and verification, provides training to NDT personnel, maintains MPI equipment, and participates in certification, recertification, and training for applicable NDT methods.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) testing activities on materials under examination.
- Record, maintain, and archive all inspection results, reports, and test parameters.
- Prepare MPI calibration samples for couplings and pipes to ensure the inspection system is functioning properly, and maintain calibration records.
- Ensure the proper functioning of MPI equipment by performing routine calibration and verification.
- Provide on-the-job training to entry-level NDT personnel and lower-level NDT operators.
- Perform routine housekeeping and maintenance of MPI equipment.
- Participate in certification, recertification, and technical training for applicable NDT methods.
- Perform operational maintenance of MPI machines.
- Execute assigned tasks efficiently and effectively while following the direction of the immediate supervisor.
- Carry out assigned roles and responsibilities in accordance with the job description, applicable procedures, and company documentation.
- Maintain procedures, work instructions, and other controlled documents under own responsibility.
- Contribute effectively as a team member to achieve AMTPJ's quality objectives, business goals, and strategic direction.
- Support AMTPJ's continual improvement initiatives to meet customer requirements, applicable legal requirements, and organizational objectives.
- Support internal and external audits by assisting in audit activities and implementing corrective actions and follow-up actions.
- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the Company's Health, Safety, Environment, and Integrated Management System (HSE-IMS).
- Identify hazards and assess risks to improve HSE performance.
- Address risks and opportunities to support the continual improvement of the Company's HSE performance.
- Develop and support action plans to achieve the Company's HSE objectives.
Education & Experience:
- Technical Diploma or Industrial High School Diploma.
- NDT Level II Certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
Skills:
- Good knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) principles and practices.
- Basic knowledge of the pipe inspection process.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in standard office applications.
