Job Purpose:

To design, participate, plan, test, install, maintain and support the IT communication networks to ensure smooth operation and maximum performance and availability for end users.


Key Duties & Responsibility:

  1. Plan, design, implement and maintain enterprise-grade technical architecture to support high-speed, converged data, voice, and video networks.
  2. Plan, procure, test, and deploy network software and hardware upgrades and replacements.
  3. Implement, maintain and optimize LAN, WLAN and WAN connectivity.
  4. Implement and maintain routing protocols such as OSPF for fast convergence and consistent bandwidth calculation across the network.
  5. Implement and maintain BGP for multi-homing internet and WAN connectivity.
  6. Maintain and optimize routing protocol redistribution to ensure loop-free, preferred paths for critical traffic.
  7. Implement and maintain end-to-end Quality of Service.
  8. Implement and maintain wireless controllers.
  9. Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and topology.
  10. Ensure smooth backups for all network systems and devices as per the backup policies and procedures.
  11. Implement and maintain network monitoring and management solutions for proactive maintenance and device management.
  12. Conduct preventive maintenance and upgrades for network devices and servers, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations with proper testing.
  13. Evaluate, test, and implement minor and major upgrades, ensuring easy fallback in case of failure.
  14. Monitor performance to ensure network systems availability and reliability meeting departmental KPIs.
  15. Ensure all network devices and services comply with cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  16. Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of network systems and handle escalations with vendors.
  17. Provide manuals, training, and knowledge transfer to the operation team.
  18. Grant the necessary privileges to IT operators to ensure smooth network operation.
  19. Research and evaluate new technologies, network products and services to enhance user experience and to improve network performance and reliability.
  20. Recommend improvements to departmental procedures and oversee the implementation of instructions and controls for specific IT network activities, ensuring compliance with procedural and legislative requirements while delivering quality, cost-effective services to customers.
  21. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, high-quality service delivery, and responsible environmental practices.
  22. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure network resilience and quick recovery in case of a failure or breach.
  23. Conduct regular disaster recovery drills to ensure preparedness.
  24. Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
  25. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff regarding network-related issues.
  26. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver network infrastructure for construction projects.
  27. Prepare annual CAPEX budgets.
  28. Plan, scope, and procure service contracts.


Position Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent.

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 2 years of experience with large and multi-site organization.
  • IT networks and communication experience within a large, multi-site organization.
  • Extensive experience of working with Cisco network.
  • Experience of managing WAN infrastructure and technologies.
  • Experience of implementing IT network projects.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
