Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on construction and infrastructure projects. The role ensures zero harm, adherence to local regulations, and alignment with company HSE policies, through inspections, audits, and proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance & Monitoring

  • Conduct daily site inspections to verify compliance with HSE plans, method statements, and
permit-to-work systems.

  • Monitor high-risk activities (excavation, lifting, hot works, confined space, electrical works) and
enforce LOTO and PPE compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to local legislation, ISO 45001, and company HSE standards.
Risk Assessment & Control

  • Assist in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Task Risk Assessments (TRA) for critical activities.
  • Identify unsafe conditions/acts and implement corrective actions immediately.
  • Verify emergency preparedness (firefighting equipment, evacuation routes, drills).
Incident Management

  • Report and investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents; maintain accurate logs.
  • Support root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.
  • Prepare incident reports for submission to HSE Manager and client.
Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain inspection checklists, daily safety reports, and non-conformance records.
  • Track PPE issuance, training attendance, and permit compliance.
  • Submit weekly/monthly HSE performance reports to management.
Training & Awareness

  • Conduct toolbox talks, HSE inductions, and refresher sessions for site personnel.
  • Promote behavior-based safety and zero-incident culture.
Environmental Compliance

  • Monitor waste management, spill prevention, and dust/noise control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and local regulations.
Here's what you'll need

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Health, Safety, Environment Management, Chemical engineer (or equivalent) or relevant diploma.

10+years’ experience in the field of HSE within the construction sector.

A track of successfully managing HSE matters on a mix of infrastructure projects.

NEBOSH Diploma qualification or equivalent.

Strong observation, reporting, and communication skills; ability to enforce compliance diplomatically.
