Job Description

The Group Managing Director – Logistics & Supply Chain will serve as the strategic leader and visionary responsible for overseeing all aspects of our global logistics and supply chain operations. This executive role demands an individual who possesses a deep understanding of supply chain methodologies, technologies, and best practices, paired with exceptional leadership and strategic foresight. The successful candidate will develop and implement advanced logistics optimization initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate service deliverables across all levels of the organization. This role necessitates the ability to forge strong relationships with stakeholders, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with the broader corporate strategy. The Group Managing Director will lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while spearheading initiatives to mitigate risks and navigate complex regulatory environments.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields, with at least 10 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive logistics and supply chain strategies on a global scale.
  • Extensive experience with data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytics to drive efficiency and effectiveness in supply chain operations.
  • Exceptional ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment across various business units.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and sustainability issues related to logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Expertise in utilizing technology and systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS) to enhance supply chain visibility and performance.
  • Significant experience in managing budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation in a large organizational context.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on strategic thinking and analytical prowess.
  • Experience in change management and leading organizational transformations in dynamic environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a unified global logistics and supply chain strategy aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the complete logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Implement advanced analytics and reporting tools to evaluate supply chain performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of supply chain professionals, ensuring the development of their skills and knowledge to meet organizational goals.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with vendors and suppliers, optimizing cost structures while ensuring quality and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate closely with other executive leaders to ensure that supply chain decisions are integrated into the company’s strategic planning and growth initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives focused on sustainability and ethical sourcing within the supply chain, promoting corporate social responsibility throughout logistics operations.
  • Lead risk management efforts to identify and mitigate potential disruptions to supply chain operations across global markets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards while maintaining a focus on safety and quality in operations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the exploration and implementation of new technologies and methodologies in logistics and supply chain management.
