Job Description:

The Group CEO - Consumer & Retail will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the organization, ensuring robust growth and market leadership across the consumer and retail landscapes. This executive role requires a deep understanding of the evolving consumer trends, retail dynamics, and operational efficiencies. The incumbent will establish and execute comprehensive business strategies that drive performance across multiple regions and product categories while fostering an innovative corporate culture. Fundamental to this role is the ability to leverage data analytics and market research to guide decisions and enhance customer experiences. The Group CEO will also play a pivotal role in stakeholder engagement, aligning the interests of investors, board members, and executive management to cultivate an environment of trust and shared success.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in executive roles within the consumer and retail sectors, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Proven experience leading large teams in diverse, dynamic environments, necessitating strong emotional intelligence and adept change management capabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of global consumer behavior trends and the ability to anticipate market shifts, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Strong financial acumen with a background in managing multi-million-dollar budgets, financial forecasting, and P&L accountability.
  • Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging and influencing a diverse set of senior executives and board members.
  • Knowledge of digital transformation and e-commerce ecosystems, with a proven ability to drive innovation at the organizational level.
  • A track record of developing and implementing corporate governance frameworks and compliance assurances that uphold the organization's ethical standards.
  • Experience in crisis management and risk assessment in a rapidly changing retail environment, with proven strategies for resilience and adaptability.
  • Advanced academic qualifications in business administration, management, or a related field; an MBA preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the consumer and retail segments, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall mission and vision.
  • Drive organizational performance by setting ambitious goals that incorporate financial, operational, and customer-centric metrics.
  • Lead the company’s executives and senior managers in fostering an innovative environment that encourages creativity, risk-taking, and the development of new processes and ideas.
  • Oversee operational frameworks to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in production, supply chain management, and retail operations to minimize costs while maximizing quality and service delivery.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture by leveraging data analytics to understand consumer trends and preferences, ensuring that the organization remains competitive and relevant.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, investors, external partners, and relevant regulatory bodies to align on strategic priorities.
  • Advise the board of directors on effective governance practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive risk management framework that anticipates potential challenges and implements appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Champion sustainability initiatives that enhance the organization's corporate social responsibility profile, aligning business practices with environmental sustainability goals.
