About The Role
As a Graduate Environmental Consultant , you will work within a busy environmental and sustainability consultancy team delivering services across energy, water, transport, buildings and infrastructure projects. The work is varied and may include environmental and social impact assessments, environmental due diligence, permitting, environmental management, sustainability services and support to clients across the Middle East.
You will support both environmental consultancy and sustainability assignments, working with technical consultants, project managers and clients to prepare reports, contribute to proposals and support project delivery. The role offers exposure to site and desk-based work, environmental monitoring, sustainability strategies, building environmental assessments, energy modelling, carbon management and climate resilience projects.

About The Role
As a Graduate Environmental Consultant , you will work within a busy environmental and sustainability consultancy team delivering services across energy, water, transport, buildings and infrastructure projects. The work is varied and may include environmental and social impact assessments, environmental due diligence, permitting, environmental management, sustainability services and support to clients across the Middle East.
You will support both environmental consultancy and sustainability assignments, working with technical consultants, project managers and clients to prepare reports, contribute to proposals and support project delivery. The role offers exposure to site and desk-based work, environmental monitoring, sustainability strategies, building environmental assessments, energy modelling, carbon management and climate resilience projects.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Deliver project and contract tasks within the environment and sustainability business in line with client expectations and contract requirements.
- Support preparation of consultancy reports, including environmental and social impact assessment reports and environmental due diligence outputs.
- Coordinate report inputs and approvals with technical consultants before issue.
- Liaise with clients and attend project review meetings with appropriate support.
- Assist project managers with project delivery activities and environmental and sustainability inputs across multi-disciplinary projects.
- Support preparation of proposals and tenders, and track active business development opportunities.
- Contribute to environmental and social impact assessments for projects across the energy, buildings, infrastructure, water and transport sectors.
- Assist with site and desk-based environmental and social due diligence audits and report preparation.
- Develop construction and operational environmental management and monitoring plans with appropriate support.
- Undertake on-site environmental monitoring and contribute to ad-hoc environmental projects.
- Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.
- Demonstrate safe, ethical and inclusive behaviours aligned to Mott MacDonald values.
Essential
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or environmental discipline.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Commitment to professional, ethical and compliant working practices, acting with integrity, due skill, care and diligence.
- Understanding of applicable professional and international standards relevant to environmental and sustainability work.
- Commitment to implementing and following Mott MacDonald HSE policies in every activity.
- Ability to support environmental and sustainability inputs across multi-disciplinary projects.
- Marine ecology degree or masters is highly desirable.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Exposure to environmental and sustainability consultancy services such as ESIA, environmental due diligence, permitting, environmental management or sustainability services.
- Interest in building environmental assessment frameworks such as LEED, Estidama, GSAS or Al Sa’fat, with willingness to undertake training to become a qualified assessor.
- Interest in supporting building energy modelling, carbon management, climate resilience and internal sustainability initiatives.
