Frontend Engineer Intern

We are bringing on a Frontend Engineer Intern to help us clean up the interfaces used by our partner, a major regional investment group. Tech Pipeline focuses on removing the friction that slows down operations teams by fixing the specific technical gaps in their daily workflows. This is a full-time internship for someone who wants to work on real technical problems that have a direct impact on how work gets done.

About the role
The investment group we are supporting deals with complex data entry and reconciliation hurdles across multiple internal tools. You will work on the frontend aspects of these systems to make sure the data being displayed matches the source of truth in the backend logs. Instead of building abstract dashboards, you will focus on making the internal tools usable for the operators who have to reconcile thousands of transactions. This is a fully remote position where you will help us build interfaces that actually solve the problems we find when we open the system and look at the logs. We focus on fixing the broken middle of business processes, which means you will spend your time making sure information is clear, buttons do what they are supposed to, and data stays consistent across screens.

What you will be doing

• Reviewing the current UI components to identify where data entry errors are happening most frequently.
• Updating frontend routing rules to ensure users are directed to the correct approval screens.
• Writing and testing clean React or JavaScript code to fix display bugs in the reporting pipeline.
• Tracing the problem when a frontend state does not match the information stored in the database.
• Building small, functional internal tools that help finance teams clear their reconciliation backlogs.
• Documenting the changes made to the interface so the client team can maintain the system once we leave.
• Collaborating with our technical team to ensure API responses are handled correctly by the UI.
• Participating in code reviews to learn how to write production code for operational environments.

What we need from you

• A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
• Some exposure to a frontend library like React or Vue through coursework or personal projects.
• The ability to explain technical problems in plain English without using complex jargon.
• A strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in how users interact with data tables and forms.
• Willingness to look at raw data files to understand what the frontend should be showing.
• Curiosity about how business processes work and why they sometimes break in the middle.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own tasks in a fully remote environment.

Helpful background

• Previous exposure to financial data or basic concepts of how accounting systems look.
• Experience using browser developer tools to debug network requests or layout issues.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing code changes.
• A background in a field that requires high accuracy, such as math, science, or administrative work.
