INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking ESD Supervisor (Emergency Shutdown System) to join our dynamic team. The ESD Supervisor will be responsible for leading all ESD engineering, logic programming, testing, and commissioning activities. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Triconex ESD Systems (TMR architecture), including TriStation programming, functional safety validation per IEC 61511, and site commissioning leadership.
What You’ll Lead And Deliver
- Supervise ESD system engineering including hardware design, I/O allocation, cause-and-effect matrix development, logic diagrams, and safety requirement specifications (SRS).
- Lead and review ESD logic programming in TriStation for Triconex TMR-based safety systems, ensuring alignment with approved cause-and-effect matrices and SRS.
- Ensure all ESD system engineering complies with IEC 61511 functional safety requirements; lead SIL verification, functional safety assessment (FSA), and proof testing procedures.
- Plan and lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for Triconex ESD systems including test procedure preparation, execution, and punch list management.
- Lead ESD system commissioning on-site including function testing, trip testing, SIL performance verification, and first-time startup support.
- Manage ESD interfaces with the Schneider Foxboro DCS and other systems via hardwired connections, OPC, and Modbus communication links.
- Supervise and mentor ESD engineers, providing technical guidance, reviewing outputs, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Act as the technical authority for all ESD-related engineering decisions, safety function queries, and operational safety reviews.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
- 13–15 years of ESD / safety systems engineering experience with deep hands-on expertise in Triconex ESD Systems (TMR architecture).
- Proven supervisory experience leading ESD engineering, FAT, and commissioning teams.
- Strong knowledge of IEC 61511 functional safety lifecycle, SIL verification methods, and safety integrity requirements.
- TÜV Functional Safety Engineer or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Experience on Saudi Aramco or ADNOC ESD projects is highly advantageous.
- Expert hands-on proficiency in Triconex TMR (Triple Modular Redundant) hardware, TriStation 1131 programming, TSAA diagnostics, and SIL verification.
- Comprehensive command of the SIS lifecycle including hazard identification, SIL determination, logic solver specification, SIL verification, and FSA.
- Expertise in developing and verifying cause-and-effect matrices and converting them to Triconex logic programming.
- Knowledge of hardwired and communication-based interfaces between Triconex ESD Systems and Schneider Foxboro DCS.
- Extensive experience in preparing and executing FAT/SAT test procedures for Triconex ESD systems and leading commissioning trip testing.
- Deep expertise and confidence to act as the definitive technical authority on ESD systems engineering and safety function compliance.
- Ability to explain safety logic, SIS requirements, and ESD system behavior clearly to process engineers, operations, and clients.
- Expert in diagnosing complex ESD logic issues, SIL non-conformances, and commissioning anomalies.
- Meticulous precision in reviewing and approving ESD logic programs, test records, and safety validation documentation.
- Proven ability to lead ESD engineering teams during intensive design, FAT, and plant commissioning phases.
- 13–15 years of specialized ESD and safety systems engineering experience with extensive hands-on work on Triconex TMR-based ESD Systems in oil and gas or petrochemical projects.
- Proven track record leading ESD FAT, functional safety validation, and commissioning activities on large-scale projects.
- Strong background in IEC 61511 SIS lifecycle management including SIL determination, verification, and proof testing planning.
- Experience on Saudi Aramco or ADNOC facilities involving Triconex ESD Systems is highly preferred.
