An exciting opportunity is available for Electrical Reliability Engineer located in Jubail.

Job Purpose

The Electrical Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving initiatives that enhance the reliability, availability, and maintainability of the plant’s electrical assets. This role leads the implementation of reliability best practices and supports continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting new technologies and innovative solutions. The engineer must have a strong focus on Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), switchgear, transformers, and protection relays, ensuring optimal performance and long-term asset integrity.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Expert with very strong knowledge on power system protection including design, calculation, configuration & testing.
  • Hand-on experience on the ETAP power system software including the design and calculation of load flow, short circuit, ARC flash analysis and ETAP STAR.
  • Highly experienced in the variable frequency drives from different manufacturers, especially ABB (ACS800, ACS880 & ACS6000 series) & Siemens.
  • Experienced in power transformers design, calculation & maintenance with excellent experience in transformers DGA analysis.
  • Experienced in LV switchgears maintenance specially ABB MNS with ABB EMAX1 circuit breakers.
  • Experienced in MV & HV switchgears maintenance and reliability analysis with greater knowledge in the preventive maintenance required for each type.
  • Strong knowledge in partial discharge analysis in MV Motors, Transformers & Switchgears.
  • Have strong knowledge in electrical condition monitoring methodologies including thermography & ultrasound.
  • Analyze thermal image using FLIR software to identify the condition of the assets.
  • Strong knowledge in UPS & Battery Chargers maintenance practice.
  • Strong knowledge in synchronous motors and generators & understanding the difference between brush and brushless types of synchronous machines.
  • Have excellent knowledge in reliability engineering methodologies and principles like RCM & FMEA analysis.
  • Excellent in reading & understanding electrical drawings like single line diagrams, protection schematic & electronic schematic.
  • Should have a basis knowledge in the cathodic protection.
  • Stronger knowledge of the hazardous area classification and electrical installation in the high explosive atmospheres.
  • Good knowledge of SAP system & MERIDIUM APM.

Qualification, Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years’ electrical engineering in Petrochemical, Oil & Gas sectors.

Must-haves Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of protection relays and ETAP software
  • Extensive experience with VFDs, switchgear, motors, transformers, UPS systems,
  • and battery chargers
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
