Join our professional marine engineering team as an Engine Room Rating aboard our fleet of vessels. This role supports safe and efficient engine department operations, routine machinery maintenance, watchstanding, and compliance with safety and environmental procedures. The Engine Room Rating will report to the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer, assist with routine and emergency engineering tasks, and contribute to the vessel’s operational readiness and adherence to international and company standards.
Primary Responsibilities for Engine Room Rating - watchkeeping, maintenance, safety

Responsible to the 1st Engineer/ 2nd Engineer for:

General Engine room cleanliness of paintwork, plates, ladders, handrails and bilges.

If employed as watch keepers, responsible to the respective engineer of the watch for monitoring machinery, and/or general cleanliness as required.

If employed on a day work basis, responsible for maintenance, painting and general cleanliness of the engine room and other machinery spaces.

Required Qualifications - certification, experience, medical fitness

Certificate as per STCW reg III/5

STCW endorsements

Valid Medical certificate

Minimum 12 months of experience in rank and similar type of vessel.
Preferred Skills - technical training, troubleshooting, specialized experience

Formal technical training or certification in marine engineering, mechanical or electrical trades is advantageous (e.g., marine diesel mechanic courses).

Experience with offshore support, or energy-sector vessels, including familiarity with hazardous-area equipment, inert gas, and cargo-related pumping systems preferred.

Practical knowledge of planned maintenance systems (PMS), basic fault diagnosis tools, vibration and oil analysis familiarity, and use of hand and power tools for mechanical and minor electrical repairs.

Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and safe working practices with the ability to follow instructions and take initiative under supervision.
Work Environment & Conditions - seafaring life, rotations, safety

Seagoing position with rotational deployments; assignments may include extended periods onboard with defined on/off rotation schedules.

Work in confined spaces, engine-room environments with heat, noise, moving machinery, and during inclement weather when required; must operate safely around fuels, oils, and hazardous substances.

Must comply with medical fitness standards, vaccinations, and company pre-employment screening requirements.
