Job Summary
The Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of all electrical installations and systems on offshore facilities. The role involves inspection, testing, verification, and documentation in accordance with international standards, project specifications, and regulatory guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection, testing, and verification of electrical systems, panels, cables, grounding, and equipment on offshore platforms.
- Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NEC, and project specifications.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Identify non-conformities, raise inspection reports, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities for adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Verify Ex-proof equipment and hazardous area compliance as per ATEX/IECEx guidelines.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams, contractors, and site engineers to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain inspection records, test results, and prepare daily/weekly progress reports.
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies during all site activities.
Mandatory Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of offshore experience as an Electrical Inspector.
- Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, ATEX, IECEx and other relevant electrical standards.
- Certification such as CompEx / EX Inspector, NDT Level II (if applicable), or equivalent.
- Valid offshore survival (BOSIET/FOET) and medical certifications.
- Proven experience in hazardous area inspections and electrical commissioning.
