What to Expect

The District Sales Manager’s (DSM) primary responsibility is to ensure that district sales budgets and objectives are achieved in the Middle East Region (specific geographical district for activities will be designated) thus positively impacting the financial performance of the area/district for PT and FP products. It is expected this will be accomplished through the use of sales tools and policies provided by the Company.

The DSM is responsible for developing and maintaining sound customer and prospect relationships and possessing overall awareness of activities happening within the district that affects or could potentially affect Gates ability to sell product in the marketplace.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for selling Gates' products face-to-face and remote selling to both new and existing key customers, distributors,end-users and OEM’s within the area/district on a regular basis. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service.
  • Take responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets. Identifying and contacting prospective customers and building relationships to generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition. Has primary accountability for the performance and revenue results for assigned accounts and additional accountability for strategic initiatives.
  • Works closely with Management, Application Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Coordinators and all sales support functions. Works with customers and prospects on purchasing and technical level to discuss problem areas or business opportunities.

Requirements And Preferred Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Works out of regional office or home office. Extensive surface travel is required. Travel is dictated by business conditions but usually will be in the field calling on customers, prospects, or working with distributors or other customer personnel approximately 60% - 80% of the time
  • Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a good technical background and be able to use Gates' technical data to propose solutions and present technical recommendations
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
  • Needs to possess ability to organize activities and be able to manage and function well during times of unexpected events
  • A good standard of Microsoft Office PC /IT skills are required. CRM knowledge is desirable
  • Must be fluent in English and Arabic
