Job Description:
The Director of Procurement & Supply Chain is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of the organization’s procurement and supply chain functions. This role requires a visionary leader with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that enhance operational efficiency and drive cost savings. The incumbent will lead a cross-functional team to ensure alignment between procurement, production, inventory management, and distribution processes. The Director will also be responsible for fostering relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position necessitates a proactive approach to risk management, demand forecasting, and the integration of innovative solutions to optimize the supply chain while maintaining product quality and sustainability.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives aimed at cost reduction and supply optimization.
- Extensive experience with supply chain analytics, demand planning, inventory control, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to procurement and supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading cross-functional teams and effectively managing organizational change.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to achieve favorable terms and maintain supplier partnerships.
- Proficient in using procurement software and supply chain management systems, as well as data analysis tools for decision-making.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions to complex supply chain challenges.
- Strong analytical mind with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic decisions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with organizational objectives to drive operational efficiency and cost savings.
- Lead and manage the procurement and supply chain team, providing mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms that support organizational goals.
- Monitor supply chain performance metrics, conducting regular assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to align procurement initiatives with production schedules, inventory management, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in procurement practices and supplier engagements.
- Conduct market analysis and oversee demand forecasting to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and present supply chain reports and forecasts to executive management, highlighting opportunities and risks associated with procurement strategies.
- Lead sustainability initiatives related to procurement, fostering environmentally responsible sourcing practices within the supply chain.
