Director - Health & Safety (DEL 1)

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking an experienced Director - Health & Safety to lead and drive the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategy for one of Qiddiya's largest precincts. In this leadership role, you will oversee the development and execution of robust health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment throughout the entire construction lifecycle.
As the Director, you will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to implement best practices and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Your expertise will be crucial in managing risk, reducing incidents, and safeguarding the wellbeing of all employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the health and safety strategy.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to large-scale construction projects.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee health and safety training initiatives and promote continuous awareness across all levels of the construction workforce.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with project management, contractors, and external agencies to integrate health and safety considerations into all construction phases.
- Monitor health and safety performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for executive management.
- Advocate for a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to construction health and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in health and safety management within large-scale construction programs.
- Proven track record of successfully leading HSE programs and initiatives in complex construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement effective corrective measures.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering a safety-first culture and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
