Overview
Country Head of Site Operations (SO) is accountable for achieving all financial targets and other KPI's'applicable to assigned in-country business unit(s) and working with the regional team to achieve the wider goals of the Site Operations business.
It is expected that the Country Head of Site Operations will develop a regionally aligned in-country strategy to drive growth and maximise revenue. This will involve working closely with the wider business to collaborate and maximise regional business opportunities. This is a senior client facing role with a remit to develop critical client relationships that support achievement of regional win-work and deliver work targets.
You are responsible for maintaining and improving QHSE standards, along with managing the sustainable growth of the SO business. You will work closely with the Regional SO Lead and the wider regional team in maintaining and enhancing our corporate culture and client focus to sustain the market leading performance and reputation.
The Country Head of Site Operations will report on performance against KPI's via monthly and quarterly updates.
As the business unit leader in your country, you will attract, retain and develop the best talent in the market and drive service excellence to win repeat work and achieve growth in line with assigned targets.

Your role
Service Delivery and Business development / win work
- Produce a Country Level business plan for your business unit for review and sign off by the Regional Site Operations Director.
- Review current SO capability statements and review/update as necessary
- Manage and take ownership of all fee proposals in conjunction with the bidding and commercial / legal team
- Attend all bid / no bid meetings and take decisions with due consideration for the business plan with the Regional Site Operations Director
- Attend and manage stage gate presentations
- Close out successful and unsuccessful fee proposals
- Act as the lead for Projects when required
- Manage the CRM system ensuing that it is up to date and accurate representation of the business
- Liaise with existing clients to understand their current and future business needs
- Develop a plan for exploring new client opportunities and diarize meetings that can be measured against
- Nominate as necessary key account managers and produce metrics for them to be measured against
- Attend local events pertaining to the region and become a prominent figure in the construction industry
- Participate in thought leadership and make contributions / suggestions for media opportunities
- Lead marketing and sales pipeline activities in line with Group and Middle East strategy, working closely with regional sector teams and local business units
- Deliver, meet and exceed business performance targets
- Drive commercial robustness and governance
- Identify, ma nage and re d uce risk to t h e busi n ess
- Support, coach, develop and recruit staff
- Coach, mentor and develop the UAE management team (direct reports)
- Lead busine s s'improvement in line with Group and Regional initiatives
- Provide thought-leadership of key client relationships, developing and improving bu s iness relationships with customers, sta k e h olders and within the g l obal organi s ation
- Actively participate and influe n ce t h e market as an Exe c uti v e.
- Accountable for P&L'of the country business unit
- Produce the annual invoice tracker illustrating revenue forecast against budget for all live and prospective opportunities (factored pipeline) including internal trade
- Manage debtors and actively pursue receipt of all fees
- Produce and maintain utilization trackers in line with agreed targets
- Hold regular (at least monthly) meetings with the Regional Head of Site Operations and the Managing Directors Office to report on invoicing against budget targets and take necessary action to achieve targets. Invoices are to be coordinated and split to show the true income for the respective business units.
- Accurately plan and record annual leave across the business in conjunction with line managers
- Sign off and approval of expenses, in accordance with DOA
- Monitor and report on productivity against target
- Hold weekly activity / resource meetings (in an agreed format) and report back to the wider regional business as required
- Management and ownership of CTCs and PSRs
- Participating in monthly CTC meeting with the Regional Directors
- Attending monthly meetings to discuss business performance with the Regional Directors and Finance team as required
- Attending and participating in project review board meetings
- Achieve growth and financial metric including head count, productivity, revenue, cash collection and EBIT targets
- Collaborate with the wider AtkinsReális business to assist in achieving the combined goals of the regional business
- Liaise with other Country Leads to assist in management of regional service delivery
- Ensure that formal awards are closed out ASAP and that projects are correctly set up on iGATE.
- Review and update as required processes on Integra and similar
- Ensure the business is complying with agreed processes and procedures
- Responsible for implementing any changes to the organisational structure necessary to support the business plan
- Provide opportunities for others to progress their careers, attracting, retaining and promoting talent in order to grow the business
- Managing the requirements for new recruitment
- Interviewing and making recommendations for offer in line with DOA's
- Organising and managing line management meetings and outcomes of the same
- Ensuring staff comply with AtkinsReális compulsory training
- Addressing disciplinary issues with team members as necessary in collaboration with HR and support of the Regional Directors
- Setting career and PDR objectives that align with the individual in addition to the office and wider business requirements
- Manage the career development of all staff including making recommendations for promotion
- Contributing to annual pay and discretionary bonus discussions
- Mentoring and development of staff
- Co-ordinating local APC system with nominated local sponsor
- Succession planning and identifying key talent
- Holding monthly team meetings to encourage communication and development
- Contributing to regional monthly meetings
- Achieve diversification targets including actively looking to increase the numbers of female workers in line with business targets
- Achieve 'National' employee targets (applicable to Oman, KSA, UAE, Qatar)
- Ensure that all staff CVs are updated monthly and are uploaded to the system for use in bids.
- Post graduate Degree & professional qualifications
- Demonstrable success in design / project management / project delivery / engineering with a strong understanding and appreciation of Design & Engineering.
- Culturally aware with strong relationship-building / influencing skills and agility across different relationships, ethnicities, situations and cultures
