Data Operations Assistant

Our client is a major logistics and supply chain group that requires a complete reconstruction of their historical billing and pricing artifacts. At Mosaic Conseil, we have been tasked with taking these records apart on the bench and rebuilding them against the evidence of their own invoice ledgers. To support this engagement, we are adding a Data Operations Assistant to our small, remote team. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone starting their career in data analysis or business operations. The role is fully remote, allowing for focused, independent work from any location.

Mosaic Conseil operates as a small, remote workshop dedicated to rebuilding one business artifact at a time. Whether it is a three year plan, a pricing grid, or a diligence file, we take things apart on the bench and put them back together against the evidence of the invoice ledger. The process is personal and focused. Every file carries two names on the cover: one person who builds and one who argues against what was built. This ensures that every assumption is tested before a file closes. We do not work on standing retainers and we do not produce slide decks. Instead, we return the same artifact you sent, redrawn by hand and supported by a written argument. We keep the workshop small on purpose to ensure that the people who do the work also answer their own phones.

What you would do
In this role, you will support the analytical heavy lifting required to rebuild complex logistics datasets. Your work involves moving between raw ledgers and the refined business models we produce for our clients. Because we focus on evidence, your day to day tasks will be grounded in the cold facts of the numbers.

• Organize and clean large sets of historical invoice data to ensure every entry is accounted for.
• Verify that the data in our rebuilt business models matches the source ledgers provided by the client.
• Perform basic audits of pricing grids to identify discrepancies or missing information.
• Prepare the underlying evidence that supports our written arguments and findings.
• Assist the builder and challenger in testing the assumptions of a financial model by checking data integrity.
• Maintain the internal documentation for each project to ensure a clear audit trail.
• Ensure all remote work folders and files are structured logically for the team to access.

Helpful background
We are looking for a thinker who values intellectual honesty and the discipline of a small, focused team. You do not need a decade of experience, but you do need to be comfortable with numbers and logical structures. This is an entry level role that prioritizes technical curiosity over a specific resume history.

• Basic familiarity with spreadsheets, specifically the ability to use formulas and organize data tables.
• A high level of comfort working in a fully remote environment using digital communication tools.
• Strong attention to detail, especially the ability to spot a single incorrect number in a long ledger.
• A preference for writing and reading over oral presentations or video calls.
• A background in finance, economics, or math is helpful but not strictly required if you can demonstrate logical thinking.

How we work
