Position Summary

The Pre-Contract / Contract Formation Specialist will be responsible for supporting the organization's global contracting activities during the tendering, bid preparation, contract formation, and procurement stages. The role focuses on reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and standardizing contractual documents for both client-facing and supply chain engagements.

The successful candidate will ensure effective contractual risk management, appropriate flow-down of obligations from main contracts into downstream agreements, and compliance with corporate contract governance requirements. The position will provide support across multiple regions and collaborate closely with Tendering, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, and Project teams globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review client contract documents during tender and pre-award stages.
  • Prepare contractual risk assessments, qualifications, and tender contractual positions.
  • Draft and negotiate pre-bid, cooperation, consortium, and related agreements.
  • Draft and maintain supply chain contract documents, including purchase order terms, subcontract agreements, and service agreements.
  • Ensure appropriate flow-down of client contract obligations into supplier and subcontractor agreements.
  • Support contract governance, standardization, and risk management activities.
  • Provide contractual support to Tendering, Supply Chain, Projects, Legal, and Finance teams globally.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification with 5-8 years of relevant experience in EPC, engineering, or construction contracting.
  • Or Non-legal degree with significant pre-contract/contract formation experience in EPC, engineering, or construction projects, preferably supported by an MBA, LLM, or equivalent postgraduate qualification. Approximately 15 years of industry experience, including at least 10 years in pre-contract and contract formation activities.

  • Excellent contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of contractual risk allocation, liabilities, indemnities, and dispute resolution.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to support multiple regions in a global environment.
