Commercial Director

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Commercial Director to lead our hotel’s sales, marketing, revenue management and commercial strategy and drive revenue growth across rooms, food and beverage, banqueting, and other hotel services.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction to the commercial team, develop and implement effective commercial strategies, strengthen business relationships, and ensure the hotel consistently achieves and exceeds its room-night, revenue and profitability targets.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Lead the hotel's commercial function, including Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing and PR.
• Develop and execute strategies to drive occupancy, ADR, revenue, market share and profitability.
• Lead pricing, forecasting, budgeting and revenue optimization initiatives.
• Partner with the General Manager and Finance team to deliver commercial and GOP targets.
• Work closely with regional and brand commercial teams to align strategies, maximize opportunities and drive commercial performance.
• Drive Kimpton's luxury lifestyle positioning through strategic partnerships, PR, brand collaborations and activations.
• Build strong relationships with key clients, ownership, corporate partners and industry stakeholders.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across corporate, government, tourism and emerging market segments.
• Represent the hotel at key industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and commercial performance, implementing strategies to maximize results.
• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing commercial team.
  
  

What We Need From You – Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in hotel or hospitality sales and marketing, with proven experience managing or supervising a sales and/or marketing team.
• Strong understanding of hotel commercial operations, sales strategies, marketing activities, revenue generation, and customer acquisition.
• Proven track record of achieving sales, occupancy, revenue, and marketing performance targets.
• Strong knowledge of the local business environment, market trends, customer segments, and corporate landscape.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns, promotional activities, partnerships, and initiatives that generate measurable commercial results.
• Strong understanding of revenue management, pricing strategy, forecasting and revenue optimization.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, online channels, and other relevant marketing platforms is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, with the ability to translate market and performance data into effective sales, marketing and commercial actions.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
