Job Description:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Healthcare Group will hold a pivotal role in steering the organization's operational excellence. This executive's mandate is to fortify the group’s commitment to exceptional patient care, streamlined operational processes, and innovative healthcare solutions. The COO will be responsible for leading the integration of clinical operations with business strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving a culture of performance improvement across all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will develop and execute operational plans that support the overarching strategic goals, deliver comprehensive cost management solutions, and optimize resource allocation. Furthermore, the COO will leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) and data analytics to assess operational performance, implementing effective change management initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and vision.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with at least 7 years in a senior executive role.
- Proven track record of transforming healthcare operations, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and achieving robust financial results.
- Demonstrable experience in managing complex healthcare systems, including hospitals, outpatient facilities, and healthcare service lines.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, and accreditation processes, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
- Exceptional ability to develop, implement, and assess operational strategies that align with organizational goals, fostering stakeholder engagement at all levels.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, cost containment initiatives, and resource allocation.
- Comprehensive understanding of health information technology trends and their implications for operational efficiency and patient care.
- Proven change management experience, driving initiatives that enhance service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Strong relationship-building skills, capable of engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders including Board members, physicians, staff, and community partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate vision and strategies to a variety of audiences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans that align with the organization’s overall mission, driving efficiency, quality, and patient satisfaction.
- Lead the operational integration of clinical practices and business processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across all service lines.
- Oversee the management of daily operations, regularly reviewing performance metrics, and identifying areas for improvement or innovation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive leadership team in strategic planning and resource allocation, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Institute a robust performance management framework, utilizing KPIs to track operational efficiency and foster continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for operational matters, representing the organization to external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community groups, and industry associations.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with physicians, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to enhance operational collaboration and support clinical initiatives.
- Actively engage in talent development and succession planning for operational leaders within the organization, promoting a culture of mentorship and growth.
- Lead change management efforts to streamline processes, enhance workflows, and innovate service delivery models to align with evolving industry trends.
- Direct resource management initiatives, including budget oversight and financial forecasting, ensuring optimal deployment of financial and human resources.
