What You Will Enjoy Doing

The purpose of this role is to lead the development and execution of new investment opportunities for Linde in the Middle East, aligned with regional strategy, market dynamics, and business priorities.

Investment Focus Areas

• Small Onsites (SOS)
• Merchant capacity expansions (LCO₂, LOX, LIN, LAR, LH₂)
• Air gases (pipeline and onsite supply)
• Green and near‑zero carbon hydrogen (electrolyzers, mobility)
• Blue and low‑carbon hydrogen
• Carbon capture, processing, transport, and utilization
• Hydrogen derivatives (e.g., ammonia, methanol)
• Electronics / semiconductor large systems (where applicable)
• Complex and material contract renewals (as required)
  
  

Principal Responsibilities

• Originate and develop investment opportunities through to definitive positive outcomes
• Engage customers, partners, and stakeholders to understand market dynamics, policy frameworks, and strategic objectives
• Coordinate cross‑functional inputs (operations, engineering, legal, finance, tax, commercial) to progress opportunities to Investment Committee readiness
• Develop technical solutions in collaboration with Concept Engineering and Linde Engineering, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost‑effective operations
• Design commercial structures, financial models, and pricing mechanisms, including scenario and sensitivity analysis
• Build and validate end‑to‑end business cases, including customer value propositions and offtake economics
• Lead opportunity development to achieve margin expansion, growth, and risk‑adjusted returns
• Manage executive engagement plans and prepare clear, decision‑ready updates
• Develop and negotiate key contractual terms to enable successful execution and long‑term operability
• Assess competitive landscape and benchmark solutions internally and externally
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks throughout the development lifecycle
• Ensure alignment and buy‑in from country, cluster, and regional stakeholders
• Lead governance reviews and present opportunities through Decision Gates (Gate 1–4) and IC approval
• Support post‑approval execution through construction, commissioning, and entry into stable operations (Gate 4–5)
  
  

What Makes You Great

• Demonstrated success in leading business development activities.
• Knowledge of industrial gases and applications is a plus.
• Strong communication, analytical and conceptualisation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills to work with diverse functions.
• Good influencing and facilitation skills and developing strategic relationships and networks (both internal and external) Commercial experience with long term gas supply contracts & good understanding of drivers of profit and loss.
• Qualified Engineering degree preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with added post-graduate qualification in business or marketing.
• Related experience in Industrial Gas business especially in Hydrogen, CO2, CO and/or Air Gases.
• 4 to 8 years’ experience in integrated gas/chemical/electronics business of which minimum of 2-3 years in a relevant large scale investment opportunity development.
• Demonstrate key leadership attributes e.g. Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills, Pro-active and managing change.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities within tight timeline.
• Good understanding of project management, leading workstreams and tracking deliverables.
• Experience with customer relationships development.
