Job Description

Parsons’s seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Surveyor to support surveying and site measurement activities on a hospitality construction project. The successful candidate will assist with setting out, checking dimensions and levels, recording site data, and preparing survey reports to ensure that construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

The role will involve working closely with the Senior Surveyor, site engineers, contractors, consultants, and project management team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with site surveys, setting out, and dimensional checks for construction works.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates.
• Carry out level, alignment, elevation, and position checks for foundations, structures, walls, finishes, services, and external works.
• Use surveying instruments such as total stations, automatic levels, GPS equipment, and laser levels.
• Review construction drawings, coordinated layouts, and technical specifications.
• Record accurate field measurements and maintain organized survey documentation.
• Prepare as-built surveys, measurement records, sketches, and survey reports.
• Identify discrepancies between site conditions and approved drawings and report them promptly.
• Support quantity verification and progress measurement where required.
• Assist with checking subcontractor setting-out works and measurement submissions.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure survey requirements are completed before construction activities proceed.
• Maintain survey equipment and report any defects, calibration issues, or operational concerns.
• Follow project health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Senior Surveyor or Project Manager.
  
  
  

What Required Skills You'll Bring

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience, previous experience on a construction site is preferred; experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, coordinates, levels, and site measurements.
• Basic knowledge of surveying practices, construction methods, and quality control procedures.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with surveying software and data processing systems is an advantage.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate total stations, levels, GPS equipment, and related instruments.
• Valid professional or technical certifications, where required by local regulations.
