The Associate Director – Power & Energy Supervision (Water Networks) is responsible for leading the planning, optimization, and operational supervision of power and energy systems supporting water and wastewater infrastructure. The role ensures reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy utilization across treatment plants, pumping stations, and distribution networks. It focuses on integrating advanced energy solutions, enhancing system resilience, and driving cost and carbon footprint reduction while supporting uninterrupted water service delivery.
- Lead energy management and optimization initiatives for water and wastewater systems.
- Oversee power infrastructure including grid connectivity, backup systems, and renewable integration.
- Monitor and improve energy efficiency across pumps, treatment plants, and distribution networks.
- Supervise SCADA and automation systems for real-time energy monitoring and control.
- Develop and implement strategies for load management, energy savings, and operational cost reduction.
- Ensure uninterrupted and reliable power supply to critical water infrastructure.
- Drive adoption of renewable energy solutions such as solar, wind, or biogas within water assets.
- Manage energy procurement, vendor relationships, and utility coordination.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
- Identify risks related to power supply and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and energy specialists.
- Track and report key performance indicators related to energy usage, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
- 18-22 years of experience in power, energy management, or utilities infrastructure
- Proven experience within water networks, water treatment, or wastewater systems
- Strong background in power systems supervision, energy optimization, and infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional technical teams
- Knowledge of power distribution systems (HV/LV) and energy systems
- Experience with SCADA, automation, and smart energy technologies
- Understanding of pumping systems and energy-water nexus
- Strong analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
