What You’ll Do As Applications Engineer - Power
- Liaise with client’s technical staff and visit potential job sites, as required, to verify project needs.
- Advise Sales team on project specific design issues and propose engineering solutions.
- Design power packages to suit project needs and maximize use of Aggreko fleet products.
- Design the specification of specialist electrical equipment in conjunction with ME Engineering team.
- Perform power system studies such as load flow, short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and voltage drop analysis.
- Ensure design complies with relevant codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, local regulations)
- Preparation of project shop drawings (single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and other detailed drawing required for project execution) using CAD software.
- Preparation of Project Design Pack documentation for inclusion in sales proposals.
- Gives engineering assistance as required to Operational Projects.
- Prepare project documentation, bill of materials, and as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with Engineering Team on design support requirements for the complete project life cycle.
- Aggreko places a strong emphasis on health, operational safety and environmental protection. - Minimum of 5 years design experience in a Power Generation/ Utility/ Oil & Gas Industry.
- Electrical Engineering Degree
- Fluent in English, a second language would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong computer design skills.
- Proficient in using Autocad
- Customer Focus - understands the importance of customer needs, whether internal or external, focuses on responding to them and develops relationships.
- Working together with others – relates to people, engages and builds relationships.
- Experience in electrical tools/software such as ETAP or Design Paladin.
- Require travel to project locations for site visits and client meetings
