Accountant

Job Summary

The Junior Accountant supports daily accounting operations, maintains accurate financial records, and assists with reconciliations, tax compliance, and monthly financial closing. The role ensures transactions are properly recorded, documented, and processed in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal vouchers for expenses, payments, salaries, GOSI, utilities, and accrued expenses.
• Maintain VAT and WHT schedules and support tax calculations, reconciliations, and submissions.
• Perform daily client cash-out and bank reconciliations, monitor pending transactions, and maintain refund records.
• Support online payment processing and ensure compliance with approval procedures and internal controls.
• Assist with monthly financial closing, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and amortization.
• Prepare AR ageing reports, monitor outstanding balances, and support follow-up on overdue receivables.
• Analyze expense variances against budgets or prior periods and support OPEX/CAPEX classification.
• Maintain accurate accounting records, supporting documents, and customer query logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, reconciliations, VAT/WHT compliance, and monthly closing procedures.
• Ability to prepare AR ageing reports and perform basic expense variance analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and accounting systems.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
• CPA or other relevant accounting certification is preferred.
