Responsible for providing information and service to the residents, tenants, staff, and general public. Monitors the front lobby area, answers phones, and provides clerical assistance and support. Monitors the cash box and postage meter.


  • Provides information and service to the residents, staff, and general public.

    • Answers questions from residents, tenants, family, employees and the public.

    • Assists residents as necessary in the lobby or calls for additional personnel.

    • Refers residents, employees or visitors to the appropriate personnel.

    • Greets and directs guests, vendors, sales representatives, applicants and new employees as appropriate.

  • Monitors front lobby area and answers phones.

    • Redirects residents as necessary.

    • Answers phone professionally/direct callers to appropriate personnel.

    • Takes accurate messages when necessary and appropriately pages staff according to procedures.

    • Monitors door alarms according to procedures.

    • Monitors float cell phone and bus communications according to procedure.

  • Provides clerical support to departments following procedure.

    • Performs clerical tasks as requested by GSLH employees.

    • Sorts mail for residents and staff.

    • Forwards necessary resident’s mail daily.

    • Maintains accurate resident mail list and other resident lists.

    • Organizes and sends outgoing mail daily.

    • Updates Good Shepherd Community Cable TV Information Channel daily.

    • Maintains board with roster of resident names and room numbers.

  • Maintains cash box and postage meter.

    • Handles resident cash and petty cash boxes and follows proper procedures for deposits and withdrawals.

    • Enter resident cash withdrawals into Keane resident trust program daily.

    • Sells newspaper and stamps according to petty cash procedure.

    • Accurately records payments and issues receipts following procedure.

  • Performs additional functions as requested by the Director of Finance.


Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to help ensure Good Shepherd is operated in an efficient and effective manner.

  • Maintains proper attendance in accordance with Good Shepherd’s policy.

  • Reports to work on time in accordance with Good Shepherd’s policy.

  • Provides adequate notice to supervisory personnel before absence or lateness in accordance with department policy.


Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow infection control, safety, and emergency policy and procedures. Refer to/review emergency preparedness manual and infection control policies.


Displays positive work habits that improve productivity of employees and function. Demonstrates willingness to accept new projects or assignments. Willingly assists other co-workers. Adheres to Good Shepherd’s dress code policy.

  • Work center is organized and neat at all times. Plans daily workload to insure tasks completed.

  • Instances of acceptance of new projects/assignments during review period can be identified.

  • Ability to work every 3rd weekend (Saturday & Sunday 8am-4:30pm)

  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to work as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively.
  • Previous experience with multi-line phone systems, customer service and computers required.
  • Typing speed of 50 w.p.m.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks
