To support that progress, we're recruiting for a U.S. Communications & Public Affairs Leader, Immunology/Dermatology. The position is in Horsham, PA.


In the U.S., more than eight million people live with psoriasis, a chronic immune-mediated disease that causes inflammation in the body. Visible signs of inflammation are raised plaques and scales on the skin which can be painful and debilitating in moderate to severe cases. This inflammation can impact other organs and tissues in the body.


Position Summary


This position is the lead communications and public relations advisor to various Immunology brands. He/she is responsible for the development of integrated communication and public affairs (C&PA) strategies to support Janssen’s Immunology and Dermatology franchise including our growth brand TREMFYA (approved for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, active psoriatic arthritis and in clinical studies for other treatment uses).


Responsibilities include:



  • Providing communication and public affairs counsel to the business, public relations activities for launch brands and promoted products, patient and HCP advocacy and influencer engagement, issues management, and organizational communication.

  • Develops and implements proactive and innovative communication and public affairs strategies, programs, and content to reach healthcare decision makers and shape the external environment in support of business objectives for our Immunology and Dermatology portfolios. Includes:

  • Development, execution, and measurement of both branded and unbranded programs based on stakeholder insights

  • Participation as a key member of brand and product launch teams to shape business and product strategies that drive outcomes

  • Owns media relations strategy and acts as a product and franchise spokesperson

  • Partners with commercial and medical affairs leaders to drive external thought leadership across channels on topics key to advancing innovation and care

  • Collaborates closely with R&D and policy communications colleagues to shape global strategies that will drive US market growth

  • Directs PR agency and contractor partners and manages related budgets

  • Identifies potential issues and develop proactive issues-management strategies

  • Establishes supportive internal communications strategies to align our employees and create advocacy and market-leading performance among our workforce

  • Drive business growth and build stakeholder trust/advocacy through proactive public relations

  • Maintain stakeholder trust through effective management of complex, significant issues: Proactively identify potential brand / franchise-related issues and develop issues-management strategies

  • Drive employee engagement and advocacy through powerful organizational communication: Partnering with business leaders, develop internal communication strategy and messages to inspire, engage, inform, and align employees

  • Shape and influence business decisions and serve as trusted advisor to leaders, including marketing leadership

  • Develop and curate content that is compelling, relevant, and grounded in stakeholder understanding and insights

  • Foster the sharing of best practice and learnings with cross-functional colleagues

  • Anticipate and address emerging market and internal realities to drive revenue and profitability

  • Build GCPA capability and excellence: Model and inspire a continuous improvement mindset to ensure function stays on the leading edge of communications, change, technology, social media and other key trends





Qualifications



Required



  • Bachelor's degree

  • Proven performer with 10+ years of experience and increasing responsibility managing regulated healthcare public relations programs in a company, NGO, government agency or public relations agency

  • Experience in a regulated healthcare environment

  • Proven track record of successful public relations and integrated communications strategies throughout a product’s lifecycle

  • Experience driving successful media relations strategies, including acting as media spokesperson

  • Ability to develop successful working relationships and influence with mid- and senior-level executives

  • Experience working with third parties to strengthen alliances and create unique content and programs that motivate stakeholders to take action and improve patient care

  • Experience in identification of issues and proactive issues/crisis management

  • Experience in managing project budgets / schedules

  • Degree focus in Communications

  • People management experience

  • Pharmaceutical experience
