Summary


About the Position: As a Test Administrator in the Miami, Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). You will administer tests in military entrance test sites, high schools and other educational institutions to individuals wishing to enter military service, using your own vehicle to transport test materials and maintaining security and inventory of the test materials.



Responsibilities


  • Administer written tests in the local commuting area of this announcement, and up to a 100 mile radius when necessary, using your own vehicle to transport test material.

  • Conduct specified aptitude examination sessions ranging in size from one to 40 persons.

  • Provide a comfortable positive environment for testing at a predetermined time and place, and within the established timeframe.

  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure all forms are properly completed, and make corrections as needed.

  • Conducts pre-test and post-test briefings.

  • Maintain test room control and decorum, with the assistance of military recruiters, to maintain student test session control and security.

  • Account for the proper storage and safeguarding of testing supplies and equipment.

  • Retrieves and returns test material from storage facilities, remote testing locations, or shipping point. Transfer material to and from the test site.

  • Mail applicant packets to appropriate offices for action.

  • Resolves testing session problems and issues.

  • Provide test score reports to military recruiters for each potential enlistee.

    General Experience: One year of general experience is required. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as: Providing instructions and briefings to individuals and groups; Reviewing documents for accuracy, and maintaining files; And interpreting and applying regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to an organization.

    Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

    Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

    Time in Grade Requirement: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction up to GS-4, if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.
