Installs, operates, programs and maintains hardware and software for a variety of telecommunications systems. Assesses telecommunication needs, and provides technical support for network design activities. Assists in designing and developing the organization’s telecommunications systems. Reviews, analyzes, and maintains the organization’s telecommunications systems. Provides customer training of the telecommunications features and functionality. May perform feasibility studies for small projects.


Responsibilities



Provide first and second level support through online ticket system; escalates issues for resolution as appropriate.



  • Participate in on-call support and after-hours project work, including weekends and holidays.

  • Participate in coordinating, reviewing, and performing repair services in emergency situations.

  • Work closely with the Network Team on day-to-day operations and new installations.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of LAN/WAN topologies, protocols, cabling and troubleshooting.

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of QoS standards and policies.

  • Demonstrate the basic ability to perform end-to-end troubleshooting and problem resolution for voice, video and unified communications (UC) systems.

  • Demonstrate the basic ability to gather appropriate details for communications designs.

  • Demonstrate the basic ability to work effectively with teams and customers across various departments.

  • As directed, perform all moves, adds, and changes of telecommunications equipment as required.

  • As directed, install and test telecommunication components, including analog circuits, T1 lines, transmission lines, and circuit packs.

  • As directed, operate and maintain data test equipment, analyze telecommunications system data, and demonstrate the basic ability to make corrections to the system as needed.

  • As directed, perform preventative maintenance on the organization’s telecommunications systems.

  • Contribute to the organization’s financial goals by recommending improvements that enhance the team’s technical capabilities, drive efficiencies, and reduce operating costs.

• High School Diploma or GED (Required) Experience: 0-2 years in area of specialization
