How will you make an impact?

Supervise warehouse operations to support the receipt and/or shipment of materials. Ensure all activities are performed in a safe manner per procedures and ensure prompt receipt and/or shipment as required by the business. Provide efficient and accurate storage and the issue of materials according to established procedures and policies. Ensure prompt and accurate recording of inventory transactions. Provide training and mentoring for material handlers. Ensure the warehouse is operated in the most cost-effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards.

  • Ensures personnel conduct work in a safe and effective manner, following all applicable procedures and policies. Maintains or enhances safety awareness programs and related documentation. Takes appropriate action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures. Complies with relevant laws, company guidelines and requirements through adherence to company policies relating to quality, safety, housekeeping and cost effectiveness.


  • Provides leadership, and facilitates teamwork within the warehouse operations group. Provides necessary resources for teams to fulfill objectives. Encourages team members to understand corporate and departmental goals/objectives and needs. Provides supervisory communication and/or direction to warehouse operations staff. Disseminates department and corporate information to direct reports on a timely basis. Establishes and maintains an open line of communication with all direct reports.


  • Supports group operating goals in support of departmental and corporate objectives. Incorporates short-term goals in immediate subordinates’ annual performance plans. Initiates and implements plans to reduce costs by continuously improving efficiencies, reducing labor and material costs, and reducing maintenance costs in warehouse and materials handling areas.


  • Maintains adequate production support facilities to produce the highest quality product in a cost-effective manner.


  • Generate, reviews and approves work instructions and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for warehouse operations.


  • Ensures that materials are stored safely and properly per procedures.


  • Maintains accurate inventory in SAP in accordance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) while issuing materials as appropriate. Ensures that the physical location matches the SAP location. Supervises physical inventory of the warehouse as required.


  • Coordinates training of employees in the use of the Warehouse functionality in Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP).


  • Conducts internal audits of warehouse and monthly safety and housekeeping inspections of the area.


  • Ensures all controlled substances are handled according to procedures. Ensures all hazardous materials are handled safely per regulations and procedures.


  • Enters all deviations in Trackwise system for damages / discrepancies related to material handling.



How will you get here?


Education /Experience


Minimum required education: Bachelor degree or Associate degree in Supply Chain or related field with at 3 years of relevant logistic experience or high school diploma/GED with at least 6-10 years of relevant experience; including 2 years in a leadership position, resulting in sound functional understanding of specific logistics processes and skills in accomplishing work through others is preferred.



Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and distribution process.


  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.


  • Excellent understanding of quality and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry, including pharmaceutical GMPs.


  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and implementation (Kaizen, Gemba, 5’s, Fishbone)


  • Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.


  • Understanding of customer needs in relation to process capabilities (production, material and system lead times).


  • Able to coach and lead staff through long-term cultural change and business development.


  • Ability to inspire and foster innovation, collaboration, transparency and team effectiveness


  • Ability to solve complex problems


  • Able to build, manage and motivate a team, recognize good talent and bring out the best out of each individual.


  • Advanced written and spoken communication skills with all levels of management and peers within the organization.


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
